Ukrainian Ancient Jewelry is Back in Fashion Seminar in Ukrainian and English

The tradition of wearing jewelry on the territory of modern Ukraine is very ancient, recorded in written sources since the 10th century. From ancient times, necklaces served both decorative and protective purposes. They were expensive; for example, eight strands of coral beads cost as much as a pair of oxen.

The presentation will be attended by Maria Rypan, a well-known artist of women's beaded jewelry, an instructor in their production, and the author of printed instruction books how to make your own patterns. Ms. Maria is a niece of His Beatitude Lubomyr Husar and his goddaughter.
