“This seminar will discuss the latest research on the relationship between stress, lifestyle (such as exercise, social engagement, eating well, managing stress, and getting good quality sleep), and cognitive health to improve quality of life and facilitate healthy aging. Tips and tricks for incorporating recommendations into the daily life will be discussed and there will be time for group discussion and a Q&A period with the speaker, Danielle D'Amico.
Dr. Danielle D'Amico is a postdoctoral fellow at the Rotman Research Institute at the Baycrest Academy for Research and Education and a trainee affiliate of the Canadian Consortium on Neurodegeneration in Aging. She completed her PhD in Psychological Science at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2023. Dr. D'Amico's research focuses on the evaluation of a novel community-based, personalized dementia risk reduction program offered through the Kimel Family Centre for Brain Health and Wellness at Baycrest. She also has a broader interest in the biological, psychological, and social predictors of brain health with aging, with a specific focus on lifespan experiences of stress. Additionally, she is especially committed to knowledge translation and exchange by bringing the science of healthy aging into the community.”
