As per Eventbrite:
“Join us for an outdoor adventure as we travel local trails, exploring the plants and animals in our community with a high-tech twist.
We will learn about one of the world’s most popular citizen science nature app, iNaturalist. Following a brief tutorial, we will travel along the trail and share our observations with other enthusiasts while also recording them for scientists!
Participants are encouraged to download and install iNaturalist on their smartphone or tablet.
A limited number of Tablets and Nature Backpacks will be available on-site for customers to checkout with their Vaughan Public Libraries card.
All ages are welcome! There will also be nature-themed activities available for younger children. Children are required to have adult supervision. To ensure the comfort and enjoyment of the program for all participants we kindly ask that pets stay at home or explore the park independently.
This program will take place outdoors (weather permitting), so wear comfortable shoes and appropriate outerwear. Don't forget to bring water!
